Michael W. Kott has been working in the
acquisition, contracting, procurement, and subcontracting fields, in
both the defense and commerical industries, for more than forty (40)
years.
Previously, he was senior contracts administrator
for Information Network Systems, Inc., whose corporate offices are located
in Dolyestown, PA. Prior to that position, he was the corporate contracts
manager for DMJM Aviation, Inc., a corporation which managed the planning,
design, and construction management of airports in the United States
and Canada. Prior to that, he worked almost exclusively in the defense
industry in various positions ranging from Manager of Contract Administration
to Contracts Administrator. He began his contracting career at the University
of Pennsylania as a Business Manager for the Institute for Cooperative
Reseach.
Mike Kott has been a member of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter for more than twenty-five (25) years. He has served his chapter as the publicity chair, secretary, vice-president, president (1993-1994), national director, and since July 1997 is the treasurer. He is also the awards chair and co-chairs the Graalman committee. The Northeast Region of NCMA designated Mike as their Spot Light Award winner for the 2003-2004 Program Year. The National organization of NCMA named Michael as one of four Albert Berger Award winners for 2004.
Kott holds a B.A. from Central High School, a B. S. in Commerce & Engineering from Drexel University, and M. P. A. in Contracting and Procurement from the Pennsylvania State University. He also received a Certificate of Specialization in Public Contract Administration, Pennsylvania State University. He has completed the Infantry Officer's Basic and
Advanced Courses at Fort Benning, GA and the US Army Command and General
Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS. He has served on active and reserve
duty for twenty-eight years and has retired from the USAR as Lt. Colonel.
